Anybody know how the 50D's IQ holds up against the XSi?

Wanting to replace my 2nd body with one that has a wheel. I've had a couple 40D's that I loved. Does anyone know how the 50D's IQ/Noise compares to that of the XSi?

In other words, by replacing my XSi with a 50D, will I be losing anything IQ-wise?

I'd go with a 50D just because it handles more like your 5D.

Otherwise, a 30 or 40D.

yep. all the research I've done points to no improvements on IQ really. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't some bigtime problem with the 50D I was missing. The only reason for the upgrade is feel.

Looks like the 50D/XSi are spot on - while the 40D has an edge...is this what you're seeing?

Edit - also, are these based on a pixel-pixel basis? If so, I imagine the increased MP's on the 50D would give it an advantage on a same-print-size basis... thoughts?
