And I would like opinions on these alternative processes for the lion. I was heading towards an "African Plains" sort of colour...

...and a sort of "aged" version without the colour popped lion...

Nice! I rather like the African planes effect and I can appreciate how hard it can be to get full body shots of lions in many zoos (so many are so openair within the pens that if you move outside of portraits you get lots of cage in the shot). That said whilst I like the effect I feel that the composition is lacking.

I don't know maybe even if you just flip it right to left that might help. I feel like I'm starting halfway through the photo and moving out and then coming back to see the cat. flipped the other way might feel more normal/

Nice set! :)

Thank you both. Yes, I see what you mean, Overread. I was so pleased to have got the tail in the shot, but he was just about to "mark his territory" so that's why it was raised. The enclosure at YWP is fab, biut the horizon has pylons and so on. I was really lucky (well, I mean, I worked really hard to compose the shot!) to show none of that. there is a teeny weeny bit of cloning, but really not that you'd notice. :)

Cheers

LION: From Head to Tail He is the King of the Jungle; Probably he is the Most Majestic of all creations !!!!
