Hmmmm.. the stalk looks like a lilly of some sort (Hippiastrum) but the flowers are way different of course. Our Ozzie Kangaroo Paws are a bit like it but it's clearly a different plan. No idea.

I have searched all of this site www.imagines-plantarum.de high and low and could not come up with it.
The site is very useful, albeit in German.
There is just ONE photo that comes close, but I am sure it is not "your" plant:

This one would be a "Maltese Cross" (Lychris chalcedonica), but your stem is different.

LaFoto, I think you may be incorrect in your assumption Of Maltese Cross, as I believe it is an Orchid that grows in My Garden. Ernie
