Anyone use a Sigma 28mm 1.8 ???

I know many of you advised against it...but I sold my Nikon 17-55 2.8 ($1025 ebay)

As I write, a Sigma 17-70 macro ($389) and a Nikon 70-300 VR ($379...I got a hook-up) are being shipped to my house in replacement, and the extra $200 bucks is in the bank. I hope this wasn't as terrible of a decision as some of you say it was. I will have to update. Thanks guys.
