whats better for use with a mac and pics in jpg format

Which Adobe product?

Have you looked at lightroom 2? I finds I use it more and more.

yah

and thats 100 bucks more than aperature

I guess that means that CS4 is out.

Workflow wise, LR2 is far superior to Aperture 2. If your serious about this LR2 is the way to go.

Edit wise Gimp is a great FREE program. If you don't want to run a program in the X11 enviroment then check out Seashore. It's Gimp light and runs in Cocoa instead of in X11.

If you can pay the $$$ for the mac, then the $100 more for Lightroom should not be a deal breaker. (CS4 is way expensive, I know. )

Based on what I have seen, my mac friends really like Lightroom 2 over their software.

Don't you just hate window shoppers???

CS4 Design Standard only cost me a little over $500. That's not bad.

Yeah but it's running in a 32 bit environment. CS5 ought to be in a 64 bit environment. $500 is a lot for old technology to my way of thinking. I'm waiting for CS5 because I'm not believing that the Adobe will release a 64 bit version of CS4. Adobe has already confirmed that I can get a Mac upgrade for my PC CS3. $200 is a lot better than $500.
