Are scenic pictures out?

I read an article about photographers. Basically it said that it is not hard to distinguish between a good photographer and a bad one. A good photographer is like an artist and will see a picture before it is even taken. Pictures of objects and things that we would normally be like, "how could that be a good photo?" and every other photographer takes pictures of things that have already been done... Such as scenic photos...I'm sorry but I like scenic and that's really what I like taking pictures of... What is your opinion on this?

do what makes you happy.. and do it to the best of your ability. If you feel they could be better, then work to improve. Many articles are biased one way or another... and usually written to push that bias. Take any jewels of wisdom from it (if any) and move on....

I find it very easy to distingish between good and bad, as well as terrific and so so.

Perhaps we need to know who wrote the piece and the market it was directed toward.
