When in doubt, just go to the company e-store site and buy it there. Then, you no longer need to have that concern. I know that sites like Amazon and eBay heavily discount the products sold through them, but once in a while good deals do appear on maker's sites! Canon is currently doing a promotion and you can find a bunch of new products on sale.
