The sniper and the bow have no shadow and getting the lighting done in post is though. What i've found that helps is to get the lighting right in post first, then copy that light in the real world so the image looks consistent.

I've noticed over the last few days that your photos lean toward the very dark and hard-to-see. How are your photos looking on your monitor, to you? I mean...it seems to me that your photos look dark, almost as if your monitor is jacked up really, really bright.

I do have a darker taste to my photos in general. But if they look way underexposed rather than just dark, then yes it would be due to my screen.

I'm on a Macbook Pro Retina 15" and my brightness is always on full power when editing. I have not calibrated my screen though as I figured the retinas were pretty solid out of the box.

How about I'll try and post a "normal", bright, vivid, photo and we'll see how that looks haha.

I don't think I ever turn up my brightness for editing or anything. I keep it about 75% on the desktop, I think. It would seem if you edit at full brightness, that would make your images look dark when posting here. However, I have no experience with the Retina display, so don't throw it away just yet!

ETA: I do need a long gun. I have 2 Glocks, a G-19 and a G-21SF. I'm thinking something more close-quarters.......... maybe a Mossy 500.

Honestly, half the time its on Auto brightness and I just start editing and don't even think about it. I do check for blown highlights and my blacks. If I see a couple blinks then I know its bright or dark enough.

G19 is my favorite handgun, minus the Kimber that I no longer have anymore :/
