Good advice, I suppose, Mike.. You're the second one to suggest moving them away from the tree..

I have taken the criticism that the light is too dimly lit to accomplish what I want, so I'm abandoning this effort.. I did do a 6-second shutter shot, and it's beautiful... If only I was good at the old PS..

I didn't mention it, but another option would be to take two shots, one of the tree and one of the kids and use Photoshop to combine them...but it might take some skillful PSing to make it look good.
