C&C per req:

1. NOT fond of this treatment. The faces seem soft, and the exposure, is, well... unusal. I thought that he was black when I first saw the image. Use fill light to avoid the blown highlights on her stomach and his back.

2. Nice enough, but too centered and a tighter, off-set crop would make them much more the object of attention. Why are they looking off to the side? Consider using longer glass and larger apertures to render the background softer and less distracting.

3. Cute, but blown highlights. Again fill light was needed here.

4. Hard to go wrong with the classics; better background, but again exposure issues on the shirt. Never let clients show up in white and black! ;)

5. The angle doesn't quite work; it's actually hard to tell what you're looking at for a second. The background tree isn't helping either.

6. The best of the lot, IMO, but it's not showing her pregnancy off to advantage. Again, watch your backgrounds and aperture.

Overall a good start, but with some technical issues to overcome.

Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.

Husband kissing belly: check
Bow around belly: check
Baby blocks on belly: check
Baby shoes on belly: check.........

All these are very cliche... It's been done over and over again. I'm surprised there's not the hands forming a heart around her belly button shot. :pI'm guilty of this too and sometimes it's all what the client wants. But my next maternity session I'm going to avoid these type of shots like the plague. I have so many ideas... I just want to keep them to myself though ^_^

Oh I got the heart with the hands on her belly shot. Never let a good cliche go to waste when I am on a roll. Every shot I posted she asked for. I did get a couple of creative shots that she went for and a couple that she looked at me like I was nuts. I am a professional. My motives are pure when I ask for a booby shot. No matter how nice they may be.

What did you want to do?
But yeah i guess theres nothing we can do if that's what they want....

to CC these shots..

1. The sepia is BAD. Bad conversion, focus is soft and you need FF

2 Is OK. Its underexposed. Crop some of the foreground. Watch your backgrounds and you should have used a low DOF

3. Would have been better if she were standing and her belly were sticking out. You cant really tell she is pregnant in this shot if it werent for the note.

4. My one of my favorites of your set. Bump up the exposure and warm it up.

5. Cyan Colorcast and I don't like the composition of this one...

6. Is the BEST! Just lose the cyan colorcast and lose the vignette!

I wanted her to juggle cats on a unicycle! You can't tell me you have seen one of those in a maternity shoot. I had the cats bombed out of their skulls on catnip so they would be easier to juggle. I got them back to my neighbor lady's house before she noticed they were gone. It was a good idea but the client did not know how to ride a unicycle and we scratched it.

My other idea was to have her wrestle an alligator. The alligator got loose and ran into the creek at the park where families go swimming in the afternoon. I really felt I should have told someone about that.

These are my quick edits because these pics (and the couple) really needed some color, contrast and/or a brighter exposure

background is blown, but nothing i really wanna waste my time editing on. But just add some color to these people and contrast!

Just lose the awful vignette... or at least make it subtle.

lol, because you are afraid someone from here is going to rush to your town, copy your shots, and steal your clients?

@scoody - so *that's* why my cats broke into my stash, went down by the creek and smoked all night and I never saw them again.

#1 Light everwhere but where it should be, don't like the B+W with a yellow/red/greeny tinge and out of focus
#2 No light on the couple
Shots like 3/4/5 make me want to puke, off subject can't understand why people want to know the sex of their baby
#6 Best of the bunch but still no light on the couple

I would rather get her in the studio nude lit like this but with her bits covered up
to show off the form of her stomack

She would have gone for it. She was not shy and she is pretty enough that the experience would not have been unpleasant. But I have not gone back to my studio since the cops raided it. Luckily I was not there, but those interviews they had with the dozen half dressed young Chinese women I had locked in there probably did not put me in the best light.
