Asked to take some photos for friends.

I post a zillion shots on Facebook and it's finally paid off. Some friends have asked me to take some shots of their family for this year's Christmas cards. Of course, I said YES!

Cool, eh? I'm not expecting to get paid and I wouldn't take it anyway. I just think it's cool to be asked!

Man, no wonder! My shots all looked like the front of my shirt and I was starting to LOSE IT! Thanks for reconciling that in my head. Mucho appreciated, amigo. :sexywink:

If they offer to pay, and they will, just tell them they can pay you whatever they think is fair.

DiskoJoe I think Texas is unique in your statement, I know around here the offer to pay would be very rare. I think Maryland is the same. Congrats JW, just wait until you have to say no, I had two people ask me to shoot their weddings and I avoid weddings like the plague and it felt kind of bad telling them I couldn't do it.

These are just friends of ours from the neighborhood. Funny thing is that every year, they have a bunch of people over to their house and the wife takes photos in front of their beautiful tree. She's not very good and has limited photography knowledge, but people often use these photos for their Christmas cards. Whatever. Last year, I came with my own camera and I showed her how much better her photos will look just by bouncing the light off the ceiling versus direct flash. She was amazed! SHAZAM!! :lmao:

This year, they are not doing the Christmas photos but they called me to ask if I would do their shots for them. Of course I will! Just pass along my name to 10 friends and so on and so on....
