At The Foot of The Mountain - Kenya 2023

After more than a week of patient tracking and observing different herds, the scene I was aiming for finally unfolded. A group of elephants moved through the open grassland in an orderly line, spaced naturally, with a gentle curve in their path. The lead animal had well-formed tusks and lifted its ears at just the right time. The sky was overcast, which helped soften the light. With no crowds around, the elephants stayed relaxed and came in fairly close. Everything aligned after days of persistence. Photographed in Amboseli National Park, Kenya.

Terrific image! Your persistence paid off. Love the curve of their line and their obvious relaxed frame of mind. Just wonderful.

Glad this is a B&W, too. 👍

I like that. Strange thing, m brother took his son to Africa for a three week trip to photograph animals. Christopher said he got about 5000 shot's. But, he didn't get any of an elephant! I've got one of his cape buffalo and a leopard on the wall here at home but no elephant anywhere!

It all depends where you go. This is taken in Amboseli. Loads of elephants. If you need a print of an elephant on your wall you know who to call ;)

Thank you! Yes. I tried many times before what I had in mind actually materialised. Thanks
