Autofocus Assist Lamp - Yes or No?

Just wondering what the ratio is of people who use it vs those who don't.

Yes. But I haven't really shot anything in which it was needed and not allowed or was a distraction.

If I need to shut it off for any reason, I will.

No I dont, I turned it off the hour I got my camera. Its annoying. The beep sound is even more annoying.

I had to turn my beep off, it annoyed my wife from across the room.

Me on the other hand, I had to look up why it was beeping so I could turn it off... I had no idea it WAS beeping! High, low... can't hear either one, the little LED works for me!

I shut that beep off when I took my camera out of the box. It is annoying and completely stupid you can see the light in the viewfinder that lets you know.

AF assist is always off......until I need it. Which isn't a poll answer option.

Not only can you see the light, you can see the image too. First thing i do with a new body is turn off the stupid beep.
