Being on vacation this week, I'm trying to get out a few times in between working on my ever growing "Honey to Due" list. 30 years, and it never seems to get any smaller. Weather been pretty consistent; mostly sunny in the morning, with thunderstorms or rain in the afternoons through the evening hours. Winds vary from single digits, to some hefty gusts. I decided to once again battle morning rush hour traffic, and it was some trip. Normally it's a 40 min trip that took 1 1/2 hours. But it was worth the effort so that I could take in the amazing array of flowers, shrubs, and displays at the Westbury Planting fields.

I worked the shade the best I could, as there is plenty of shady opportunities. When out in the open fields I used a cheap $5 white umbrella from Walmart to create some shade, but I quickly found that it blocked out just too much light. Just might try a silk umbrella if I can find one cheap enough, since it will be taking a beating out in the fields. Although the umbrella did come in very handy as a wind block.

The 1st plants I came across was massive plantings of Azaleas in beds around Coe Manor. They were still wet from an early morning watering, and they were in the shade too boot. Here's the best of several dozen images I took.

Thanks for stopping by.

These are absolutely lovely! The color in the last shot is a little intense for me, but all the others are very nice. Good composition. I especially like the first three. :-)

Dagwood56, thanks so much for your comments. I to thought that the colors in the last picture were a little to saturated, but that's actually how it came out of my D90. I guess between the soft diffused lighting and the preset (Standard) I use, the colors might have gotten a little tweaked.
