1st one doesn't do much for me....I like the 2nd as is, and it would also be cool to see all of him in focus too!!

I agree with Artograph, #1 is nothing special, you might do better concentrating on the wheelbarrow and planter against the wall.

I love #2, a little more depth of field would make it very good!
