Hey All,
Just wanted to share this B & W of my daughter and would like some C & C. As far as the conversion, what do you think? I think it could be a little soft, am I wrong?
I love this picture, I'm sure that alot would say I should have backed up, you would like to see her eyes, or at least see what she was looking at. I respect all opinions. But I like the way the frame being full here, and I can't really say why..it's something to do with her hair.
Tell me what you think, being a beginner, I appreciate it all!

It is nicely sharpened with good DOF and nice conversion.
However, there is no contact or emotion in the image.
The eyes, or even eyelids if they are closed, are almost hidden so the viewer is cut off from contact. There isn't enough of the rest of her in the picture to give any context that might support the downturned face.

While that thirds thing isn't a 'rule', human beings actually do look at the thirds point as a powerful part of the image and what do we have in this one - forehead and cheeks.

My guess is that she is quite a lovely child; shoot this again and capture more face.

Hmmm, I'm gong to respectfully disagree with most everything Traveller has said here. I do see emotion; a quiet contemplativeness, which while not an obvious emotion is still emotion. I also don't think that the "Rule" of thirds has any application here. This is a tight head shot, not even a full bust, and trying to offset key features would produce an awkward image.

Thanks Traveler, I see your point! Glad to know that I had the conversion right. I'll reshoot!

Tirediron,
having said that, what do you think of this shot?
