Hello everyone,

My first ever set of portraits, I'm still very new to photography would appreciate some critique!

Thanks!

#2 is the most pleasing. The framing is a bit too tight, but hey, SP's can be very difficult to frame up! I think the post work creates a pretty good look on the second two frames.

What does SP stand for? And thank you!

SP= Self portrait I believe.

The shadows are all on the harsh side and they are not edited to my taste but they certainly make a statement. I would also work on the sharpness and DOF and pic a better background that is less distracting (as in the first one).

I could make critiques until the end of time but I am talking out of my ass. This is art and it is what you want it to be. Just because it is not technically perfect does not make it bad. Make the image look how you want it to look. Self portraits to me are about showing yourself and in these I get a sense of who you are and by this definition, they are alright.

#1 is out of focus to me
#2 I like the best
#3 something about the angle of the face makes it less pleasing to me than #2 although I can't put my finger on it...

They all have a gritty post processing so I think that darker or more pissed off expressions would fit in well with it if that is the look you are going for...

Thanks everyone, comments are much appreciated!

I like them. They're all pleasing to the eye... I just am not a fan of the shadow that outlines the side of your face.
