This was a five minute session in the midst of the overall shoot.

I would like to see a bit less post processing on the baby's skin. It feels very fake.

I agree with Christina. The poses and the exposures are excellent. You need to dial back the skin processing a bit and show some flaws.

How funny. There is absolutely no PP on the baby. Color amps on the flowers yes. Skin, absolutely not.

did you jack up the noise reduction? I have never seen a baby look like that before. Most have skin like if you have been running around outside naked when it is freezing cold.

Nope. It's just baby skin and good lighting.

No, but I did paint in "Green with Envy " on the sand. That was pretty much all that was done besides the crop.

The lighting just doesn't work for the subject. It has made her look plastic. What was your lighting set up? I can see this being great lighting for fashion work just not for babies.

I'd have to look back at the metering, but I'd quess it was something like 100 iso, 125 shutter, and somewhere between 8-11 ap.
I think some of the plastic look might come via my uploading process, because I'm not seeing plastic at all. (If you look at the Daddy and me shoot, there was pretty much done with nothing but a crop. Daddy is very real. Baby has the same baby skin.)
Here is my process for upload, and I'd totally love to hear a new way to do it, as I'm sure will others with the same problem:

Run Through Image Brander at full size
Resize for web using Kevin Kobuta resize to 750 pixels with USM. (I've turned USM off)
Upload to Photobucket
Reupload here.

I'm honestly not sure what causes the edge oversharpening (which I suspect might be the real problem). I'm totally open to finding a new way to do things. I've tried Flicker, but it made the images really small and pixally.
