Texas Armadillo

but I just feel like ...they were here first?
Actually "we" were here first, we only started seeing them a few years ago. Don't know if they migrated on they're own or hitched a ride on vehicle, that's how we got Black Squirrels. There's a popular RV layover for the Snowbirds not far from us. The Squirrels were apparently hitching rides down from Michigan/Canada, and hopped off at the park when people spent the night. Black being the dominate color it didn't take long for it to spread outside the confines of the park.

@cgw you'd be amazed at how tough an Armadillo's outer coat is. #6 shot just bounces off........scares the $%$# out of them though, you wouldn't believe how fast they can run, it's like a cartoon....they pick up their shell, and with the legs extended look like the Road Runner with armor. LOL A 270 will punch through, but it's hard to hit them on the run, like I said, they're really fast
