I can't figure out myself. I thought the small one was a dirt until I saw that it actually has legs. The big one probably baby cricket?

Spuzzette · Aug 25, 2011

Whatever it is...They are definitely best friends!

Mikebull · Aug 25, 2011

Wierd Bug for sure ... Liked the angle on the 1st Shot .

BlackSheep · Aug 25, 2011

Or one is trying to eat the other one for dinner!

My money's on the little guy, he looks pretty tough

The "grasshopper" actually looks like a Hopper, which is an immature locust, and the little spiny one is actually called a Spiny Leaf Beetle (Dicladispa). They aren't interested in each other, they probably just ended up on the same leaf!

I think you're quite right. As soon as I took the 1st photo, the bigger bug move away from it's dinner.
Hmm... on second thought, maybe they're really best friends. Maybe I disturbed them..
