What a happy and beautiful child!! At first, I thought he had bright orange hair that was on fire! Must be the lighting or something! To me, the WB seems a little chilly, especially for what should be a nice balanced, if not slightly warm Christmas set. The expression on the child's face is perfect!!! I really like this set, except for the white balance. Since it says it's ok to edit your pictures, I took the first one and edited the WB a little bit in Lightroom.

not a perfect edit I realize, but I'm not great at editing. That was using the dropper tool in LR and picking a spot of white, then adjusting a bit from there.

I'm guessing flash was used, so the lighting is inconsistent with the ambient light? You'd have to gel the flash to correct for it.

Cute photos though. I love the expression on #4 the most. I just wish there was a little more room for his hands at the edge of the frame. They're too close, and cause tension.

^Yes. If you know your way around PS it can still be corrected. And yes, #4 is the money shot!

Thanks for the input! This was actually no flash.. natural lighting from one window and I tried to use something as a reflector on the left side to help balance but I guess it didn't do so well. lol I'm no good at WB.. I used the auto white balance in LR and it seemed TOO orangey to me... these weren't taken at night, but at around 4pm or so when the sun was on its way down.

Well, flash or window it is mixed color temperature light, that is hard to adjust later. I am talking out of my butt here, but maybe a slight yellow reflector would compensate, rather than pure white? Assuming you used a white or silver reflector.

So, which is your favorite shot of this set?

I used something silver to reflect light.. or to try to. lol I don't have a "real" reflector.. just used a big poster board type thing thats backside is silver and I think it should have been closer to him to help more maybe? I don't know. My little model only cooperates for so long.. so everything happens so fast.

#1 is what my husband voted for a Christmas card shot. I think that image seems the sharpest, which is why I love that one. I think he looks SO DARN happy in #2, so I love that one also.. lol #3 shows us his lil dimple <3 and #4 I was so giddy when I saw the image, but he looks almost devious to me in it? Like he's totally up to something! This is my own child.. so its really hard to choose a favorite. ;\

Since they are for your own personal use the wb should suffice not like your little one is green or purple

and practice wb fir next time. Me I prefer #1 since his eyes are more to the camera than the others. But #4 is cute and it does look like he is up to no good lol. But thats a boy for ya lol.

Oh my goodness, your focus and what you captured here is really nice. As the others said, the only thing I think you need to work on is your WB. Are you using the eye dropper tool in LR to select your WB? If not, that is where I would start next. Take your eye dropper tool and look for something that is supposed to be white or neutral and get a good WB and then things should start to fall into place.
