Backup work flow?

I may have asked this ages ago, but since the new system I cant find all my threads. My first 1 tb drive is finally full! Trouble is, I accidently saved all my early digital photos as .psd. And I used the vault for my newer photos, which is glitzing out every time I try to update it now. Luckily I still have my laptop in working order, so I am planning to start from scratch fill up the new drive, and then wipe the other. So before I make some huge regrettable backup mistake, here is my plan:

Save the Masters of every photo, then refine by rating and save the edited copy of everything with 1+ star as original size .jpg, 300 dpi, srgb, highest quality. Eto khorosho, da?

We plan on wiping the laptop everything older is saved on soon, and updating its OS, and eventually I will move over to LR from Aperature 3, so I cant use the vault anymore anyways....

Not exactly sure what your question is here?

My current backup setup is as follows:

• Primary copy is kept on a Synology DS1513+ NAS (link) that's setup in a RAID 5 configuration (one drive can be removed without data loss) that currently has 11TB of usable space and can be expanded up to 90TB as needed. This is also the copy that I work off while at home and if needed can access while on the road.
• Second copy is kept with my travel gear in the form of 2TB external WD Passport drives (currently have 3 of these).
• Also thinking about getting a 6TB drive to keep a third copy off site in a safety deposit box or parents house (incase my house burns down while I'm home and I don't managed to get a copy out).

I also only save the original raw files and the Lightroom catalog files, I don't export jpgs to save.

Yes, this is what I am asking. Since I botched my first two methods and I am having to redo, I'm just double checking that this is a good backup plan and I won't regret it later

If you backup the raw files and also include your favorites in jpg format you should be good. Only issue I could see is that you're only going to have one copy of this backup, hard drives fail, always a good idea to have another copy on a different drive.

Yes! That has always been the plan I guess I forgot to mention it. I'll copy the hd bro another one before we wipe the computer. Right now the computer is the second place.
