Bald Eagle...

Went out to Sauvie Island on Sunday and did some shooting. We were led to believe there would be scores of Bald Eagles but, unfortunately, we saw only three. I've never had the opportunity to shoot them in the wild and, in fact, have only seen them in the wild on two other occasions.

They were just hanging out in the trees, so there's nothing "action packed" about these, but I was excited to get them.

I was using the Canon 40D with the Sigma 50-500mm:

As long a reach as it was, I still could've done with being closer. There was just no safe to get there...

The second one is very nice. just a thought. Is the picture sharp enough to crop in on the bird's head? You may be able to create a really nice one of just it's head.

they look grainy... is that just from the extreme crop?
