I'm not happy with the sharpness on these, and I know they don't compare to the great shots shared by the usual suspects around here, but this is the best I can do with my 70-300mm. I don't see many bald eagles posted here, so I thought I'd share. I see so many of them that I take them for granted sometimes. Also, bonus sea lions. Not a great shot, I know, but they're still neat to look at.

1 and 2 are the same mature baldy. I like the pose in #1 more, but I think I did a better job on the composition in #2. If the juvie in the background was closer I'd have tried to get them both in focus, but as he stood I didn't want the background sharp. Please C&C if you'd like!

In the last one with the sea lions the water looks a bit too blue, I'd consider desaturating that a touch but you've done a great job with the eagles!

Thanks Weepete. I think you're right. I turned down the vibrance a bit and I think this looks a little more realistic.

I also got a pretty good look at a humpback whale from my kayak last weekend. Even managed to get my phone out of the dry box in time for a very amateurish video! It was the closest I've ever been to a whale, I was pretty tickled.

nice, love shot 3. I'm off to Vancouver next Thursday/Friday so I'll have an opportunity of hopefully seeing Bald Eagles at Stanley Park!
