On my recent trip up to Scotland, we visited Dunrobin Castle which is the home of the Countess of Sutherland it's a fabulous house and gardens but a hell of a long way from - well anywhere really!!

They have a selection of birds of prey that they fly for the public during the day, this is their barn owl called plop.

Very very cool shots, Tempra! I like the flying posture you captured in the third shot, and the details in the feathers in the second shot, but basically really like all of them.
 
3 is unbelievable... so much so I claim SHOPPED! Just kidding. Great subject and great captures all around.

Heh, actually, number 3 is shopped - well I cloned out the top of someones head in the bottom left corner :D

Wow. Plop is beautiful.
And Photo 3 is :thumbup: !!!
And here is another one who captures birds of prey so well ... and I try and try, and my pics are ... only blah.
Or only of birds that sit "behind bars"... :cry:
 
Very nice! I've only ever seen a captive barn owl, but the people working with the one I saw said it was the most people friendly and affectionate of all their re-habilitated raptors -- I always found that fact to be fascinating.
