Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
I have a 20+ year old Canon AE1 with a few lenses.

I'll be getting a Canon digital SLR soon (Rebel XTi).

I think I know the answer, but I'll ask anyway: will my old lenses fit onto the body of the new digital Canon?

Thanks,

Jon

I thought as much.

Not even with duct tape (I have a whole roll)?

aaw.
I know there are film & digital compatible lenses though :D

I actually used to have an AE1 and when I switched to digital I found out that my old lenses wouldn't work...so I went with Nikon. I bet you could find an adapter somewhere if you were really set on being able to use that old Canon glass though.

There are adapters for FD to EOS, of two kinds, each with problems:

1. Plain old ring adapter to physically mate FD to EOS, but you won't be able to focus to infinity.
2. Adapter with optics, to correct the focus so you can focus to infinity. However, this will degrade your image quality significantly so it's not worth it. This adapter is also quite expensive I believe.

If you have other makes of manual focus lenses, many of them WILL fit on the Canon EOS mount with suitable adapters. This article explains a lot:
