Interesting shot!

I'm personally not a fan of vignette added in post, and the model being in the left of the frame is throwing me off a bit. It seems like she should be either centered, or in the right of the frame based on her pose and, I dunno, I guess I'm expecting a 'right hook' which would be a far miss where she's standing!

I'm just a newbie, posting my useless opinions out there I like the shot though, very cool!

Thanks! Yeah, this is actually the first vignette I've done out of all 6000+ photos I've taken so far, and it's the only photo I've taken that it seems to at least somewhat. I kind of like her being in the left. My thinking behind it was she is heading towards the light, with the darkness behind her. I appreciate your feedback, thanks! Perhaps some others can input some photography rules which could dictate the positioning of the girl. I could always re-crop it!

In fact, I think you may be right. Haha, perhaps I'm just super tired as it is 3 am, and did not think of cropping this way in the first place.

Second photo is the winner, with her to the right of the center of the frame. She's very pretty. Wish we could see the right hand, just a little bit.

Yeah, I wish so too. She wasn't actually a model for me, this was at an open mic night/talent/show type thing and I caught her in this pose xD Perhaps if I was standing a little more to her right (our left) I could have got some of her right hand.

Oh wow, I made a suggestion that somebody who actually knows what they are doing agrees with (Derrel). Wow!

Yeah I like it to the right. I can't describe it technically, but, with her to the right, it makes sense in my brain. With her to the left, something seemed off.

The vignette is growing on me, it kind of gives her a spotlight effect. Though still, I'll admit, I'd prefer to see a spotlight on her than vignette! (Though, that might not be possible!)

My last thoughts, are once blowing it up, you can see some noise. Higher ISO's along with dark backgrounds can be kind of grainy. I don't know if she was moving when you shot this, but, at a 50mm focal length with a VR lens, you could have easily dropped the shutter speed alot with her posing and not moving, and then been able to drop the ISO down some. Just food for thought.

Edit: Nevermind, I just saw your new post. With it being non-posed that probably was an optimum shutter for the situation!

She does not look battle ready.... open it up some, more of her kicking leg/foot would help. A close up of her arm face and fist would portray this also...in your face type of shot.

Interesting shot but I'm not a fan of the shadow from under her arm, down her belly and into her pants area...I can't stop looking at it and its very distracting...
