So, last week I went to Hyder, AK to photograph the bears fishing in the creek. Although I got some photos, the results are not all that pleasing. The light was so dim that even at ISO 1600 I was at 1/20 to 1/60 SS using the 150 - 500 and even with the 70 - 200, 1/200. The results are that after PP and some judicious cropping I am left with very noisy or soft from noise reduction photos. Would truly appreciate any comments, critique or helpful hints for shooting in these conditions and PPing. The light was mostly deep shade, no flash allowed for the obvious reasons. Here are some examples;

Wow. Now that's something you don't get to see everyday.

It was an amazing trip , and justified by the fact that it was successful, but I still would like to know if there is a way to get more out of my equipment or post. Thanks for the kind words.

Love that they are bear shots, with #3 being the winner.

Hoping to get at least one bear shot in a few weeks.

Giving this a bump to see if anyone can help. Or, if I'm fartin' against thunder, just say so.

Can't offer any advice, but I really LOVE the third one. What an awesome thing to be able to capture.
