Very neat Robinson! I've always been a fan of light painting if you want to call it that. Also smoke photography! Just gotta collect all the right equipment before I give 'er a go too

That's what we call controlled crack joint in the construction world. If the slab were to crack, it will crack there.

i guess it is distracting. I should clone it out. I just didn't understand masking part. No masking was used.

I'm with this Chap. There's enough fire in here that it makes it very dynamic and telling, #1 is too much for me. And yes, the flames almost resemble a fiery dragon...

It's the way the expansion joint lines up with the shadows on the jeans -- it looks like the crack runs right up into the leg. I think this is one of those "once you see it" things, because I didn't see it at first, either. I don't know that the whole crack would have to be cloned out. I bet just a bit of work on the shadows in the jeans would break up the line enough that it wouldn't be noticeable.

In any event, both photos are really great -- lots of great detail in the fire. I like the illumination of the background in the first photo, but I think I like the expression in the second better. Nice work.
