Beautiful black and white? Opinions would be great

Merry Christmas and a happy new year everyone! My attempt at "people photography"! What do you guys think of these portraits?

Fairly decent portraits.
It looks a lot like you grabbed a point & shoot and took these photos yourself with one hand.
I would expect people photography to be more candid shot of people in public.

What kind of camera were you using?
What is the composition you were going for?

There is a lot of thought when it comes to portrait photography.
Lighting, distance, etc..

I would definitely recommend taking a look at some beginning portraiture tutorials and such.

Interesting model, but she could smile once in a while. Your light is way flat, meaning no modeling to it. Cropped a little too close for my taste.

In general you should only post the same photo to one thread, just fyi.

I'm sure you saw my critique on the other thread so I won't repeat it. I will however say, try different lighting and have your model interact with the camera.
