Took some photos of my cousin and her boyfriend last weekend... Wondering what your thoughts are. Thanks in advance.

C&C per req:

ISO 800??? F13??? 1/640???

You've got some nice images here; I especially like #1. 2&4 are nice, and the background of #3 does nothing for me.

There's lots of potential here, but you need to get yourself off of Program/Scene modes. Had you shot #1 with more reasonable settings, especially a larger apertuere and longer glass you would have acheived much greater subject/background separation and an overall stronger image.

Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.

Like above except I'd comment for #2 needed a shallow dof to throw the wall oof.
On #3 you have cropped right on the guy's ankle; should avoid having the joints right around the edge of frame.
On #4, as you have gone for that style shot I cant help but feel the feet should be there; don't know if it would work in this case but its easy to grab 200 shots then pick the best handful.
For both 3 and 4 you have fairly strong vignette; placed in post? Either way look at correcting it a little as to me it doesn't compliment the shots.
Final thought; tell the guy to show some teeth; it may be shots from them but you could still get him to then show the difference between the shots to see if he'll be willing.

2's ok but the rest..can you go back to the spot with the car? I think all four had potential if only they had been composed better (ankles/feet in frame..and the vignette is weird). The last image - the suspension is shot and they're leaning the other way as well :( i feel seasick... They need their weight on the car so you can align it all the same. I think you could redo all three concepts twice as good, second-time around. They look photogenic together - it's worth it.

Wow! Thanks so much for all of the feedback!

Tirediron: I actually just started reading Understanding Exposure last week. Today, I made it my goal to learn how to shoot in Manual mode. To my surprise, it’s not as bad as I thought it would be! Relatively easy, actually. So I will definitely be taking your advice and getting out of Program/Scene modes from now on!

Tylerh: I see what you’re saying about cropping out his ankle/their feet. I will pay more attention in the future for sure! About the vignette, I did add those in PP. How do you guys add vignettes and/or decide when to add them? As embarrassing as it is, I actually used picnic for these two vignettes. I do all of my PP in Gimp, but I haven’t been able to figure out a way to add a vignette using Gimp.

Pasm: Sorry to make you seasick! ;) The car is actually positioned on a slight incline, so I’m sure that doesn’t help the effect. I can go back to that place anytime, and I plan to use it in some future shoots as well. I’m sure I will be asking the couple to let me practice more in the future too (what’s family for, right?)

Really like #4's concept.....but the car titled to the right is very distracting.....and as said before, try to not cut out the feet/ankles. I'm a big fan of the vignette though! =)
