Nice shot, Jeff. That was me this morning. Not on a thistle but walking through them (fuuuuun!) down at Myakka River State Park.

Thanks! I purchased myself a pair of rubber boots and went wandering off through the tall brush to the lake edge. The lake is up 4.25 feet, so the shore has come closer in. Boots kept my feed dry in the ankle deep water, and protected me from the pit vipers. I had to fight with the breeze to get the second flower head to be where I wanted it for the shot.
