Before & After CC

This was a quick shot because my cat is so hard to capture. That's why it was dark in the before photo. I tried fixing it but wanted to know if I should have done anything differently, etc. Should I crop in more? Thank you!

As for the first shot as you stated, it's just a snapshot. The second shot isn't much better. Your PP has blown out the whites and you've lost all definition in the white fur. As for the crop, the angle is a little weird and doesn't work for me. I would try to get the exposure correct and work on composition. JMHO

Here's what I'd do:

kicked down the highlights and upped the shadows, then added some contrast. Dodged the cat's right eye (picture left) some. Upped the saturation a touch. took out the random bits of trash, square crop. also warmed it up a bit.
