Beginner Leica

Hi all,

This is my first post to the forum, so if this is in the wrong place please tow it. I am interested in getting a good quality rangefinder camera. I am not willing to spend the $8k for an M9 just yet so I would like to try a 35mm Leica rangefinder. I am willing to spend up to $1k for a body but less of course would be better.

I am a very amateur photographer. I have taken some classes and read a few books but in all honesty my main interested is the camera and less the photographs. I love the mechanical part of the camera. When digital photography came along I lost interest but after playing with an M9 and a Hasselblad 500 with a digital back I am looking to get back into it.
