Beginners camera...Nikon D5100+18-55 or Pentax K-r 18-55+Tamron 70-300

I cant decide between getting a Nikon D5100 with the 18-55VR lens or for the same money I can get the Pentax K-r with a Tamron 70-300 lens as well as the 18-55 lens. I would really appreciate any constructive comments on the pros and cons of the above. Thanks in advance.
