Behind the Spanish Line

The first of my recent photos after I've been in a bit of a dwam for a few months.

This was the site of the 1719 Battle of Glensheil fought between Government troops and an alliance of Jacobites and Spaniards. This bridge would have been just behind the Spanish line at the start of the battle.

About the picture now! The light seems to be pretty hard. I can see, with the light diagram, the contrast is at the maximum, but we don't have depth or the dramatic feeling in the picture.



The trees on the foreground cut the view and I didn't see the bridge on my first sight. I don't know if it was possible to move closer to the bridge, but in my opinion, it needs to get a better place in the composition.

Thanks mate. I agree the lighting is a bit flat, it was taken around lunch time when the sun was peaking over the hills.

It is possible to get down to the bridge and walk over it too as it's an old drovers road which is easily accessible. I'll be back there at some point so will try and remember your advice and get closer next time.
