Typically people who are new to processing images try selective color because it is new and interesting to them.
The color attracts the eye to the detriment of the rest of the picture.
Here the trees are a border and the viewer would look past this border to the building.
It is rarely a success and should be used sparingly and only when you're certain its a benefit.

The composition is good (maybe even better if You decide to take a few steps back)!

I agree with The_Traveler and I'm close to think that this photo would look amazing in colorful version (please consider uploading such).

Thanks for your feedback. Here 's the original without effects.

This one is much better in my opinion. Its a shame that You didn't left much space on the sides.

Help me understand this concept a little further , to show more of the sides is it because you want the line created by the tree line that goes down to the right to extend a little further? How far would have been far enough, do you take that eyeline so it crosses the horizontal midpoint a little?

I'd like to have more space on each side.
Now I find this picture as a very tight so I believe that even one or two steps back would do the job in this case.
It will have also a positive impact on the first impression that this photo makes. Now it is very hard to chose the most dominating part, weather it is background or the trees.

I think that making same composition in square (with addition of more space on the left, and much more on the ground and a little bit at the top) would be also beneficial for this photo.

BTW the view behind the trees is so picturesque that You would utilize it for brand new composition.

I see what you mean, it does feel a little crowded and I now understand what you were suggesting. Now it's bugging me I can't see further to the right,
thanks for your insight
