I agree that there's not a lot of tonal difference between the pepper and background. Maybe some type of color filter effect could help differentiate the subject from the background. I am not familiar with On One software, so not sure if that is even a possibility in that software. If the SW offers filter effects, run through some and see what results they yield. Try green filter, blue filter, and maybe even infrared, or others; B&W images usually NEED filtration effects to separate colors, which can often be rendered as close B&W tones when they would, by color, be much more distinctly different.
