Best Buy Adventure

The other day, I had some time to kill. I went into Best Buy and browsed the camera section. First off some ridiculous prices if you ask me. Also I noticed how the Micro 4/3's are growing left n right. Has anyone played around with any of these? Im not too impressed by quality. The Nikon V1 or J1 shoots 10fps which isnt good quality if you ask me. I like the thought of the interchangeable lens but overall not impressed with quality. Its the in between the DSLR and a PnS. Just airing out some opinions.

Why not? Higher quality usually is rather impressive, I think.

I'd rather have that though dude. I mean, the 50mm is just dwarfed by a FF body, or even a 7D. It just looks silly. The 7D in there had the 28-135, but the body didn't turn on so it was kinda moot.

They have a 5 minute training course that they give while your waiting in line. You dont have to even read the manual afterward! They know that you know what you are doing when you go get an entry level camera on credit from an overpriced box store.

A 4/3 is not a camera that is in between anything. They are dslr or slt with a 4/3 format. Many people make them now. Olympus, Nikon, Sony, Panasonic all make them. Heard good things about the Panasonic. Nex 7 sound good from what I have been told by friends. You can use lots of older lenses with these bodies and the right adapters. And why is 10fps bad quality? I never get why people think that is a bad thing.

I've only been to the states twice, but I love best buy. Perhaps it is because I'm used to living in a country where a nikon d3100 (my camera) has to be pre-order and costs over 1000 dollars
Needless to say I got mine in best buy for half that price.

You would love costco! They had a d3100 kit with a 18-55 and a 55-200 for only $699.

Costco definitely has better deals. When I worked at Best Buy, we were not allowed to price match them because they are "wholesale, not retail". That being said, Best Buy is a great place to get hands on with the equipment and see what you like.
