Best Kind of Memory Card for my camera

What is the best kind of memory card to use? For those that don't know, I have a Olympus Stylus VR-370 camera and use Photoscape, and I'm hoping to use them for photoshoots (they would be for those who want Facebook photoshoots until I'm able to save enough money for a DLSR camera and Photoshop).

ive always had good luck with sandisk.
currently use 16gig sandisk extreme SD/HC I cards.
they are 45mb/s but ive had these a while. theres faster cards available now.

I have tried several over the years. But for the larger faster cards mine are all Sandisk or Lexar. Sony makes their own and should be good as well. The thing to watch for is counterfit cards. Companies by cheaper slower, lower capacity cards and reflash them to report larger capacities. And then either put fake name brand labels on them, or some unknown brand label. The only way to tell their true capacity is to actually fill them. And see if they actually recorded what they claim.

The big news right now is Lexar is shutting down. Their parent I guess has decided there is not enough profit in them. They will probably sell Lexar. But that doesn't mean they will be made to the same quality. Just like anything else that sold out. New buyers just trade on the name until it finally dies after people realize what's going on.

If you do a search there are multiple sites on the internet that lists cards and who makes the components.

I've long used SanDisk and Kingston memory cards - CF, SD, SDHC, micro SDHC, and SDXC.

CF and SD:

I used Sandisk only for many years and still use the old cards. Just perfect.

Then newer Sandisk cards 32GB and 64GB started to fail on me, many of them. I tried other brands, like Lexar or Transcend but all of them failed on me.

In the end I found Samsung Pro and Samsung Pro+ ... Much faster and very reliable. Highly recommended.

Friends of mine have the same experience with Sony, which I never tried and cannot comment on.

When it comes to XQD I only use Lexar 2933x. Just perfect.
