Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Flickr, Photobucket, Picasa, etc? What would you recommend for the most economical yet feature-rich site?

Glad you asked this! You're definitely the first one, so I'm really looking forward to the replies.

There are several and no one site is the 'best', unless you ask "best for ________________".

I use both Photobucket and Flickr. There are things I like about both, and there are things I don't like about both.

Not all web browsers are color aware and not all people's displays accurately display photos (not calibrated) so how your stuff looks to others is likely different than what it looks like to you anyway.

What are the main differences between the two? I'd mainly just like something that let me upload the full-resolution photo (and make it available for download) as well as showing the EXIF info and allowing perhaps a few comments.

I use much more deviantart.com rather than flickr

This. Flickr is one of the best photo-sharing websites on the planet and it's insanely cheap for what you get (unlimited storage, unlimited bandwidth, I think $30 a year?).

If you get serious about it it's usually good to grab your own webhost too for additional storage. I keep all my pictures on my own webhost/domain *and* Flickr. That way it's easy to link people directly to my site (even though I don't actually sell the pictures) if they want to see any or want a copy...but for only like $30 a year I have another redundancy for my 700Gb or so of pictures =)

Is there a way to display EXIF data on Flickr?

Yes, there is. Find a picture you like, go to 'Actions', then 'View Exif info'. The 'Actions' button is right above the picture. If the exif data is intact, it will show it.

Flikr x92million. Photobucket is only good for displaying pictures that you really don't care about or as online file storage. If you put the same image on Flikr and Photobucket and sit them side by side, you'll be amazed by what Photobucket's awful compression does to your image. Friends don't let friends host on Photobucket.
