Not a bad start to what may become an addiction (if it has not already). You will want to get closer and closer using stalking and patience. I can't see what lens you are using, but eventually you may want a longer focal length....we all do.

Unless it's intentional, watch your white balance - if you shoot raw, it gives you more control in making white birds white etc. In many cases, you also want to avoid having your subject in the middle of the frame.

I'm using a Nikon 70mm-300mm f/4.5-5.6 zoom. Shooting from a bridge getting closer isn't an option.

This is my first digital camera and am really just getting the hang of setting the white balance and ISO on the fly. Also shooting in raw format. Thank you for the link.

I see. Getting closer will help in other locations where it's possible. I use auto white balance in the field and only adjust if needed while processing the raw file.

A couple more of the Cooper's hawk, a bit grainy owning to white balance and iso.

That is certainly a LOT of pictures in one thread. I'll assume, based on the volume of photos thrown out here, that you are just "showcasing" your work and aren't really looking for any constructive criticism or suggestions to improve.

Birds are fascinating, aren't they? Keep shooting, and if you want C&C, I'd suggest making a thread with maybe 3 or 4 photos, at most, numbered so we can better refer to which ones we're talking about.

Thank you for the advice.
