Great pictures. Could you name the birds? I'm just curious (and stupid when it comes to ornithology).

The pose of the 3rd is great. 'What's that? A camera? What does it do?'....

so these were taken in some sort of bird refuge?

Thank you all for the comments, they are just the most gorgeous of creatures.

The place I took them is a bird of prey centre, they have falconry courses and the like and keep a large number of birds of prey on site.

Here goes on the names, I could be wrong ornithology isn't my strong suit either!

1: Bald Eagle
2: Tawney Owl
3: Kestrel
4: Peregrine Falcon
5: Barn Owl
6: Barn Owl
7: Hooded Vulture
8: Black kite

that first one of the bald eagle really grabs your attention. They are all awesome looking pictures.

great job on getting such sharp feather detail! My faves are 2, 3 5 & 6 <-- nice one getting the owl's full wingspan in the frame. Reeeally enjoyed looking at this series.

6 is majestic. Amazing shots Stanokella.

I like I know these birds from somewhere... I believe we have two other photographers (two of my favorite photographers I might add) on this site that like to shoot these birds... Hmmm... Great shots by the way... very sharp and you have captured some great poses...

Spot on with the names.
I love the portrait image of the barn owl.
Is the bald eagle an Alaskan or American do you know?
Where did you take these?
