I agree - it's a bit out of focus and the bird needs more detail. I don't mind losing some shadow detail, but you've lost pretty much all of it on that bird, and when it's the main subject, it becomes a bigger deal.
I also dislike the person's feet legs in the background. The depth of field is nice, but it can't blur out those legs to the extent that you'd need for them to be less distracting.
What I do like - if those legs weren't there - is the composition and the pose of the bird. The curve of the neck mirrors the chair and overall it's nicely framed.
I think you are 'seeing' the shot, but now you also have to practice seeing the potential details that could derail that shot, like background. Or learn how to clone them out
