2 is great, the shadows are rich and textured. Very evocative. 1 is overerexposed at the top and doesn't have the same feel, although maybe you were going for something different?

Great shots. I think I'd crop the top 1/4 or 1/3 out of both, so that it was just tree trunks and shadows, no foliage.
