I really like three and four!!

I love that area! Thanks for posting!

these are good :)

I don't know...I feel like they are way too gritty. Overly sharp without the contrast between shapes so I'm just lost. The first is where it hits me the most. You had an awesome shot here, particularly with a tighter crop on the hunter. But there is so much detail that I can barely see him and the rolls in the hills lack definition because they're drowned in super-crispiness. I'd probably go back to one of the original shots and work on pushing some of the contrasty colors to set it off.

I see what you mean, the issue I had, and the reason I did it in black and white is that the grass, the hill, the hills in the back ground and the stones he is sitting on are all a very similar creamy colour. They merge into each other, less so in b&w and I had to pull the contrast up to get the definition between the colours.

I'd recommend posting one picture per thread. You'll get more comments.

Hey Raven, #2 and 4 hands down.
It takes a crisp, contrasty photo to make a nice B&W landscape and IMHO, you nailed it.

Cheers, they weren't as interesting in colour, there wasn't as much contrast in the colours.

I love #1 just as it is. I think the immense space and threatening atmosphere around the rambler convey something very powerful. A tighter crop on the person, in my opinion, would not have worked as well. The contrast, also, adds to the palpable sense of isolation. Thanks for sharing this.

Thank you, that is what I was aiming for, it was a moody day weather wise cold and windy and a desolate place, and he was just sitting there alone, eating his sandwich just taking it all it!
