Came back from town yesterday to find that a big Black Bear sow and her 3 cubs had decided my big White Oak in front of my property would be a nice place to take a nap. First the cubs climbed up, then a bit later so did Mom. They all napped for around 40 minutes, climbed down, and the after a short after-nap nursing, headed back into the woods. I was up on my deck about 50 feet away from them. Taken with the Pentax K3III/55-300PLM. When the bears were up in the tree I was using my DOF bracketing mode set at +1.5 Stops.

Lucky you. I would have loved to watch them. Nice set of photos.

Great set! Just imagine how strong the mother must be being as heavy as she is and pulling herself up there.

Yeah, I know. I've never seen a bear her size climb before. So much for scampering up a tree to escape :).
