Trad shops, like this modern one, were rarely spacious. Facing away from the mirror is pure old school. No shop phone. Online bookings only. Barbers never take personal calls when you're in the chair. Cash only. Fewer distractions!

Love it. It has an oddly staged look to it, with the matching striped capes, and the customers facing inwards. It looks awkward - in such a great way!

The clientele ranges from kids to retirees. The shop is deeply involved with this working class 'hood in Toronto's old industrial West end. Local grade school and HS kids who present straight A report cards get free haircuts. Huge toy drive at Christmas. Good souls. Good cuts.
