This is a bird that has been very elusive for me. After a long hot day of not finding much I almost gave up. Decided to check one more spot and actually found a fresh Juvenile and an Adult. The light was getting low, but it was on. I am really digging this 80D even though the 7dm2 is better on paper, I've been getting better results with the 80D.. Thanks for looking and comments welcome..

2 may be one of my favorite ever. Fantastic!

All Nice as usual but #1 and #3 is lovely.I really like the color tones and the soft focus everywhere but the bird. Looks like a great camera what I have read and certainly the IQ looks awesome but then again its you shooting it.:1247:

Persistence pays off! Great set. :)

nice - I'll vote for #4

Nice shots Kris. #2 and #6 are my favourites.
Awesome! Particularly the wing spread and the in flight.

Thank you for all the kind words!

I was super psyched about these. It's not very often that you find a new bird in spectacular light and really close. I always thought these guys were pretty cool too, I've only had 2 others fly by me in that past few years.. The sensor on the 80D reminds me quite a bit of the D7100, It renders quite a bit better than the 7dm2 to my eyes and is my go-to camera now, even though I'm giving up the 10 FPS and larger buffer. Once it grabs the subject is also seems to track much better than the 7dm2...

Do you think that you'd be getting the same quality pics if you where using a normal zoom telephoto compared to the big prime or is it about who's holding it lol.

Awesome set!

For the question above. He has nice gear.... Wait a minute. I shoot almost the exact same setup and he kills it where as I still have room to grow.
In short. It's most certainly Mr. Rowe that makes the biggest difference.
