Awesome. Love the GREEN color to it also. (hehe beat Corinna to it)

I think I'd like a tiny bit more DOF to get the tip of his nose in focus, however you still managed to get a very focused eye. Good shot!

Great photo, I like it a lot. I used to have a Snow corn snake which is a relative of this snake. Same family but different sub species. Great pets if you're into snakes as a pet.
 
Creepy and beautiful. Do you use auto focus when you are taking pictures of such squirmy things?

thanks everyone. Yes, I almost always use auto focus (one shot & AIServo)
 
Very nice! Do you know what it is? I saw one similar, except mine was shedding, at the Great Dismal Swamp this past summer. I couldn't get as good a shot though. It was in the brush.

Thanks Amber. This is a black snake, very common and non-venomous
